To boot, one of the greatest feelings on earth is knowing that you are working smack dab in the middle of the Lord’s calling being all that He has made you to be for such a time as this. There is a silly saying, “How do you eat an elephant?”   The answer is, “One bite at a time!” The same advice is given when it comes to studying and reading something as important to your faith as the Bible. Now, if you are a speed reader, you could probably commit your time to reading through the Bible as quickly as possible so that you can say that you did it. Many of us are not speed readers and this article is dedicated to those folks. Below are some simple instructions to help you read and study your Bible that will bring joy and enlightenment to you as you learn the principles of the Bible that makes and keeps your beliefs and faith strong. James 1:19 KJV Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man (or woman) be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man (or woman) worketh not the righteousness of God. - emphasis added - My grandmother always taught me to "kill'em with kindness."  She always said it would be difficult  for someone to be ugly to you if you continued to treat them with respect and dignity.  As hard as her lesson was for me to understand as a child, today, I can clearly see how her teachings were Biblical principles that God would one day reveal to me as truth.  These words were buried deep within my soul as a child, and, no doubt, have helped me to withstand some difficult situations in my own marriage while I patiently waited for my breakthrough to finally arrive. I think the book of James is a good starting place for us to study in seeking how we can learn to silence arguments and put an end to dysfunction in our homes....

A Prayer That Was Heard When a heartfelt cry out to God is all you have.... It was a cold winter's night in the Alleghany Mountains of Virginia when I, at the age of seventeen, needed an answered prayer in the worst way. I was on my way home from a football game and a friend of mine needed a ride. I told her I would be happy to take her home. The roads were starting to get icy; no snow yet, but you could feel the temperature had dropped pretty significantly. We made it to her home without an issue, however, as I was heading home myself, I hit a patch of ice and the car started to drift off of the road. My wheels were spinning but I was not going forward, instead, my car was sliding sideways. On the right side of the road was a steep cliff and below the cliff was a cold, icy, rushing river.
